11/29/2022 0 Comments Airport utility update problemsThe AirPort Extreme is also updated back to firmware version 7.9.1 (newest) and still working great. Now it’s all back to normal and working flawlessly like it use too. THE FIX: The only thing that worked was FACTORY RESETTING the modem and setting it up again. Restarting/unplugging wouldn’t fix anything. I was receiving connection to it and the WiFi capabilities were working, but the Ethernet ports seemed to be dropping in and out randomly. It’s been working flawlessly for the last 4 years up until now. The main issue I figured out later was actually the AT&T modem itself. #AIRPORT UTILITY UPDATE PROBLEMS UPDATE#My question: If the AirPort Extreme was causing the issue then why would it appear that the modem was the issue as the internet icon on Airport Utility would go back and forth from orange and green when it would drop the internet connection, but the AirPort Extreme would always stay green and working?!ĮDIT: UPDATE - The above worked for about a day. PROBLEM SOLVED! Internet hasn’t dropped for over a day now and has been super consistent. Weird right? This went on for over 2 days… (At this point I’m in the process of getting a new modem) In the meantime, I decided to “rollback” the AirPort Extreme firmware to 7.7.9 which is right before the newest 7.9.1… However, it would cause my AT&T modem to freeze or glitch out causing the connection to drop (or so it seemed like it.) On Airport Utility, the Internet icon would be orange and the AirPort Extreme would stay green. AirPort Extreme looks fine with the green light and no issues. Since updating to the newest 7.9.1 firmware my internet has been intermittently cutting in and out. Is anyone else was having similar issues? Couldn’t find anywhere online where people were having this issue, so decided I should post this here.
