Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner to pull up a menu.If you’re looking to empty your cache for security reasons or to clear space on your device, the steps are simple: Microsoft Edge users are lucky in that they can personalize how the browser saves and uses their data. While saved information can improve a browsing experience, they can also offer insight into your personal life, especially if someone untrustworthy has access to your device. If you’re concerned about personal security or worried about having your personal devices misplaced or stolen, you may want to constantly clear your cache. If a website isn’t loading correctly, a common way to troubleshoot the issue is to empty your cache. If the site owner has updated some of the images and they aren’t loading for you, it may be because of outdated information saved within your cache. You may also find that you’re loading older versions of some websites due to the information saved on your device. An internet cache can help your phone load a website without affecting its bandwidth usage because there’s less new data to download.Ī new way to protect your data and devices with Microsoft 365 Learn More Why Empty Your Internet CacheĪ cache takes up space on your hard drive, so you might want to periodically empty it to make room. If you browse the internet on your phone, you may notice that bandwidth limits and caps can disrupt your online experiences. If you do a lot of online shopping, a cache can improve your experience because consistent information like logos and buttons will load quickly, since they typically appear in the same place on every product page. By keeping some of that information in a cache for future use, when you visit that page again, it will load much more quickly, speeding up web browsing. DELETING FONTY CACHE CODEYou may notice that when you visit a website for the first time, it may load slowly, based on how much code your computer or smart device has to download. A computer cache functions in the same way. Think of how you can typically recall a song’s lyrics if you hear it again for the first time in months. The cache is stored on your smart phone, tablet, or computer’s hard drive and helps websites load faster because some of the page’s information already lives in your device. Typically, a browser will store what are known as static assets, parts of a website that don’t frequently change. This information could include the text from the site or some of the images like logos, backgrounds. DELETING FONTY CACHE INSTALLSo I don't know what's up with Iontano's 3 ttf files, but I suggest using the Store download & Add button method in Font Book to install them, & see if that makes a difference. When you visit a website, your browser downloads certain information from that site to help it load faster when you revisit it in the future. That also works without issues in both apps. In both Photo & Designer, on the top left dropdown menu of the Character Studio panel, "Iconic-fonts" is a new choice & all the fonts appear in the dropdown menu to the right of the top left one. However, in Photo & in Designer after restarting it, all the iconic fonts seem to be working in both apps without any issues.Īlso, before I added any files to Font Book, I created a new 'collection' in that app, which I named "Iconic-fonts." Immediately after they were all added, they appear in the second column of Font Book, making it easy to select them all & drag them into my newly created collection, which I did. Weirder still, Designer simply crashed - no unhiding or message that I could see. Oddly, Photo unhid itself & a brief "Updating fonts." message appeared. I had both Designer & Photo running at the time, each hidden & with no open documents. DELETING FONTY CACHE VERIFICATIONI did that, selecting all of the sub-folders in the "Fonts" folder (not the individual font files themselves) & that very quickly ran the font verification process & installed all the fonts, each in its appropriate family. So I quit Font Book & tried the second suggestion, which is to launch Font Book & use the Add button to select the files. DELETING FONTY CACHE WINDOWSDoing that was a very bad idea because it opened a cascade of 41 individual windows in Font Book, each with its own "Install" button. I decided to install all of them at once to save time, & just to be on the safe side, I reviewed the Installing fonts on macOS section of the Affinity Store installing resources guide (US English version here). That suggests 2 ways to install them all, one of which is to drag all the fonts directly to the Font Book app icon. Each of those folders had one or more *.ttf files in it, one for each font in the family. After unzipping the file, I got a folder named "Fonts" with 41 subfolders in it, one for each of the 41 font families. I downloaded the iconic-fonts.zip from the Affinity Store. ![]()
